Brasco designed these bike shelters for the University of Kentucky and installed them in August 2014. It was important for UK to support its student’s ridership through protection and designated bike parking spaces. The AERO model bike shelter offers a steel frame (also available in aluminum) with transparent polycarbonate roof, circle grill work, powder coated in Traffic Black. All powder coats have less than 1% volutile organic compound (VOC) and offer the highest density finish available for optimal protection.
As cycling continues its movement from recreational hobby to utilitarian purpose, bike protection is in higher demand for universities across the US. In addition, U of K gained LEED credits for installing covered bike protective, offering a long term return on investment for both the school and its student body.
