The Central Ohio Transit Authority partnered with the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) in 2011 to hold a design competition for the new design of the Downtown Business District Bus Shelters. The final design was chosen after a community-wide vote and Michael Young, then a senior majoring in Industrial Design, was named the winner. His design was unique and considered the urban environment with a curved roof to celebrate the Scioto River.
Brasco was selected to take the design from concept to reality. The Studio B team rose to the challenge creating new extrusion dies and metal forming techniques to achieve a final product based on the winning design concept.
