Brasco worked with a non-profit 510(c)(3) organization to create a secure and mobile vending unit that would improve the streetscape and enable members of the local immigrant community to sell their products on the street. The vendors, funding agencies, and local businesses all had input into the final design of the vending units. The goal of the project was to design and build vending structures that would deter theft and allow vendors to move the units into a secure lot at night. Brasco listened to the needs of the vendors and designed a vending unit with a deep counter to display products, ample slatwall and hooks for hanging displays, and security features like a fully enclosed structure, stainless steel hasps, and wire security mesh on the roof.
By working with the stakeholders on the design, Brasco has helped a local community revitalize a heavily traveled street while providing greater opportunity for the low-income and immigrant members of the community.
